Hutchison Ports celebrate Ramadan with Alexandria community

Hutchison Ports celebrated the holy month of Ramadan with the Alexandria community on Sunday. Beneficiaries from the Misr El Kheir Foundation were presented with a cheque of EGP 344,000 which goes towards their programmes to help the needy and special education students during the holy month of Ramadan.

This brings the total sum raised to date to more than EGP 2 million since Hutchison Ports Alexandria’s Dock School philanthropy programme started in 2007 to drive positive and sustainable changes to disadvantaged communities, especially orphans and the needy.

Mr. Darrius Teo, CEO of Hutchison Ports Alexandria, said: “As a long-term supporter of children and youth with special needs, we’re glad that our efforts continue to benefit the community. We are grateful to our business partners, customers, the public and our staff over years who are offering their strong support to our meaningful work. This latest cooperation with Misr El Kheir is our latest project in addition to the continuous support to the El Bitash Primary School in El Dekheila and Al Amal Orphanage in Alexandria”.

Hutchison Ports Alexandria is a subsidiary of Hutchison Ports Holding, the world’s leading container port operator with a network comprising 51 ports in 26 countries throughout Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Australia.
